With the sun finally in the ascendant, Glengarry has gathered their best value picks for the long, languid days.
Winestate's Winery of the Year trophy winner for 2011, Saint Clair Family Estate, is the featured winery this month. A family business, it's their second consecutive year to hold this title. Akarua have also launched two new sparklers, a brut NV and a rosé.

Saint Clair Family Estate - Senior Winemaker Hamish Clark
Thursday February 16, 7pm - Glengarry Devonport, cnr Clarence and Wynyard Street
This is a grand opportunity to soak up some knowledge from Saint Clair's senior winemaker and to taste some of his amazing creations. Hamish has worked for Saint Clair since 2001 and alongside Matt Thomson, leading the winemaking team. Tasting Peregrine Wines with Greg Hay
Friday February 17, 7pm - Glengarry Jervois Road, 54 Jervois Road
We are excited to have instrumental founder and owner of Peregrine Wines Greg Hay, with us for this tasting. We'll be tasting a number of their Rieslings plus an aged 2005 Rastasburn Riesling and some Pinot Noir. Dida's will provide some cheeses.

Pinot Noir Club - Domaine Jessiaume with Grahame Haggart
Tuesday February 21, 7pm - Dida's Victoria Park, 118 Wellesley Street
Domaine Jessiaume lies at the southern foot of the Côte de Beaune, in the village of Santenay. Like most Burgundian vineyards, it is a family concern, and is run by Marc and Pascal Jessiaume. Marc and Pascal's father, Bernard, retired from winemaking and sold the property to David Murray, chairman of Rangers Football Club, steel tycoon and now Burgundian vigneron. Grahame Haggart met David through the steel industry and now looks after Domaine Jessiaume for him. Grahame is in New Zealand for the summer and is coming to Auckland to host this tasting.

Mt Difficulty Winemaker's Dinner with Matt Dicey

Matt is coming to Auckland to host a winemaker's dinner. The wines for the dinner will be; Mt Difficulty Target Gully Riesling 2009, Mt Difficulty Chardonnay 2008, Mt Difficulty Pinot Gris 2011, Mt Difficulty Pinot Noir 2010, Mt Difficulty Target Gully Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2009. These five wines will be matched with five courses prepared by the team at Dida's Victoria Park.

These wines have only just landed to Glengarry’s stable of fine wines. The wines that we will taste are Barbera d'Asti 2008, Monte Colombo Barbera d'Asti, Villa Martis 2007 (Nebbiolo Barbera blend), Nebbiolo 2010, Martinenga 2008, Camp Gros Martinenga 2007 and Gauian Martinenga 2006.
